The article is devoted to the study of human and citizen's rights and freedoms in Ukraine. The role of the National Police of Ukraine in the protection of human rights and freedoms has been determined. It is established that the protection of human rights and freedoms is one of the priority areas and is a strategic goal of the National Police of Ukraine. Regulatory principles of law enforcement activities were investigated. The main tools used by the National Police of Ukraine to prevent violations of citizens' rights are analyzed. It was noted that the reform of the law enforcement system had a positive impact on the process of appealing to the public authorities for help. The author proposes to improve cooperation between law enforcement agencies and Ukrainian society.
The effectiveness of the activities of law enforcement agencies is crucial to the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens for social development and the formation of a modern rule of law, democratic state, adherence and implementation of its social purpose to guarantee the reality of human and citizen's rights and freedoms.
